This is my ongoing experience and practice with Houdini 17, I will be posting experiments and cool renders while getting to grips with Houdini. These will mostly be un-edited, as I want to see the raw outputs through various experiments. Most of these will be based on online tutorials, but this is to show my progression with Houdini.
---------Simple Terrain Generation---------
Here I was playing around with terrain generation, mainly with the "Height-field" node in Houdini, to create this scene, or a worn rocky terrain
---------Contained Snow/Hair globe---------
I was trying to create a snow globe effect, with path traces "hair" strands, then try lighting it such a way that it shows depth.
---------Dr Strange Portal---------
This is a experiment with contained particles, and I was trying to re-create the wizards portals from the movie Dr Strange.
---------Particle physics within a dish----------
Mostly playing around with the Velum modifier to see what could be achieved with physics based simulation.
